Christmas

I love Christmas time. I know this is way behind but I want to try to remember to good times in this phase of my life. This was a good Christmas.

Mom's new dining room. We had Christmas breakfast in the now dining room that my mom remodeld. Growing up this room was our playroom. My mom did an amazing job of turning it around.

My favorite. Country ham, biscuits, and garlic cheese grits. We only eat this once a year.

Rob was very excited about his t-shirt. He didn't think that I knew he liked the Bronco's.

John was equally excited about his Ove glove.

Rachel and her new purse.

Mom and her new cooking ware.

John was very creative with his wrapping.
This was the best Christmas surprise. I had seen this hall tree back in September when I was home. I almost bought it then but dedcided not to. Christmas morning I opened a box with a green jacket in the box. A note on top said " a new jacket to hang on your hall tree". Then my brother took me to the storage unit to see my new hall tree. I was completely not expecting this.

Christmas night we upheld the tradition of going to Mama Sissy's house. We had not taken a cousin picture in a long time and did not have a recent picture with Rachel. I am not the only girl anymore.

Round 26

Happy 26th Birthday Brittney( 4 months later)! For the exciting event of one's 26th birthday Brittney chose to eat dinner at Mellow Mushroom.

Of course Sarah and I had to get Brittney one of our special birthday cards. We put a LOT of thought into this card every year. You can tell that Brittney greatly appreciates our thoughtfulness
Thank you pioneer woman for yet another amazing recipe. Yellow cake cupcakes with chocolate icing. Make a wish.

Getting ready to go the the Ten our Tenn Christmas concert.

Happy Birthday Carrie- From Michael Scott and Jim Halpert

Tuesday was our assistant Principal's, Carrie, birthday. We knew that she was a fellow Office watcher. If you are fan of the show then you know that one of the practical jokes they like to play is to put objects from peoples desk into jello molds.Brittney and I have been planning this for months. We wanted to wait for a special occasion to do this and Carrie's birthday was perfect.
Our Principal, Chad, was in on this joke and helped to "borrow" Carrie's teacher of the year award.1 box of jello +

A monogramed birthday card =

The perfect birthday gift for Carrie.

Carrie loved our birthday surprise.

Way Behind- Getting Ready for the Holidays

I knew that eventually I would resort back to my old habits of starting something and never finishing. I am going to try really hard not to wait so long to post again. Maybe this is my pre-New Year's resolution.

I love the holidays. There is nothing that excites me more than decorationg for Christmas. So before we left to go home for Thanksgiving this year I talked Brittney into decorating the tree.

Goodbye fall decorations. Can't wait to see you next year.

Hello Christmas. I am so glad you are here. I've missed you.

We just HAD to watch White Christmas while decorating. My personal favorite. Sadly I still have it on VHS.

Hanging the first ornament. My new ornament from Disney World. It's Cinderella's castle.

We tried to take a picture of ourselves in front of the tree. Why... I don't know. These are some out takes.

Sorry Britt!

This is the best one I could find.
It was so nice to come home from Thanksgiving and have a decorated house.

FALL *sigh*

I love fall and all the fun events that it brings. This fall has been very busy, but so much fun. I think I have been busy every weekend since school started. Fall brings county fairs. Here we are at the Wilson County fair. Very crowded but very worth it.
I love the lights of Ferris wheels at night. I don't love riding Ferris wheels.

Waiting in line for a ride that I didn't even ride.
What kind of southern girls would we be if we didn't get something fried at the fair. We chose to split fried oreos. YUMMMM!

Next fall took us to Virginia for Jennifer's wedding. Here were are at the reception. We might have gotten lost in Virginia and missed the wedding ceremony... maybe.

And finally Laura and Luke's wedding. It definitely felt like fall as you can see from the picture.

They had their ceremony and reception at Burrit on the Mountain in Huntsville. This was the view. It was absolutely gorgeous.
What a perfect fall night.

Road Trip

This weekend Brittney, Sarah, Mindy, and I took a little road trip to Atlanta to visit our friend Katie. After surviving the first week of school we felt we needed a little getaway.

We didn't get to Atlanta till late Friday night so we had to make up for that on Saturday. We started the day off my doing what we do best...shopping. Katie took us to this fun outdoor shopping center, Atlantic Station.

My favorite store that we don't have in Nashville, H & M. Oddly I didn't buy any clothes there. We shopped, ate lunch, went to IKEA, and drove around the same block about 20 times trying to get to the interstate... and yes we had a GPS.

We finally made our way to Turner Field. Once we found the interstate we didn't have any trouble getting to the game...except for turning down the wrong way on a one way street. Here we all are.
When we walked into the stadium Mindy made fast friends with a man that worked for the Braves. He asked to look at our ticket. We were sitting in the nose bleed section. Our new friend told us we could not sit all the way up there and that he would come and get us in the 3rd inning and move us down.
So we made the trek to our nosebleed seats. Don't you love the skyline in the background.

Mindy and Katie trying to stay cool in the blazing sun.

Sarah found the only shade when Brittney stood up to take our picture.

Then right before the game started our new friend Steve came and found us and told us he was moving us down! At this point we thought we were probably being moved to the lower upper level.
Then our new friend gave us all FREE HATS! We were already ecstatic at this point. The only catch we had to sing Happy Birthday to this little boy who came to his first Braves game for his birthdayYou can only imagine the excitement among us when we got on an elevator and ended up here. Right on the 3rd baseline.
Can you see what good seats we had?!

Group shot in our new and improved seats!
I had to include this picture especially for Katie. This Asian couple sat in front of us. They were so into the game. The lady would stand up and cheer anytime Chipper Jones came up to bat. She would yell out Chippa Jowns... I love Chippa Jowns.

The Braves won, we got free hats, and we only got lost once on the way home. We had an awesome day.
Last group shot at lunch today. We thought we all coordinated well with our solid colored dresses. One man at church even asked if we were a sorority. I guess we might look like one...we do tend to travel in large groups of mostly girls :) Our trip to Atlanta was the perfect weekend getaway. I am pretty sure we are definitely planning on another trip to Atlanta...we only got to spend 30 minutes in Ikea!
